World Water Forum Attendance Reportedly Down as Activists Ramp Up Preparations for Alternative Forum
The World Water Forum (WWF) and the Alternative World Forum (in French: Forum Alternatif Mondial de l'Eau -FAME-) are going to take place from the 12th March in Marseille, France. Governments, organizations and civil society will gather to discuss, reflect on, and take important decisions about the future water.
The World Water Forum (WWF) is organised every three years since 1997, when the first World Water Forum was convened for three days in Marrakech, Morocco. In the following editions of the Forum (The Hague in 2000, Kyoto in 2003, Mexico in 2006), the WWF came under heavy criticism by civil society organisations for its pro-big business bias and its weak legitimacy.

Q. What is your evaluation of the campaign one year after the beginning of the boycott?
The world wide campaign against Coca Cola is an on going systematic global process which includes various activities of protest, mobilization, a call for disinvestments in those institutions where Coca Cola is represented and a consumer boycott of its products; any way of expressing your rejection of the company.
WHO WE ARE
LASC is a membership based organisation. Membership is made up of individuals who share a passion for real social change in Latin America and Ireland and who believe that peace with justice and equality for all can come only through genuine participation of everyone in society's decision making. Thus, we encourage the opening of the traditional exclusive political systems of Latin America to new forms of participatory and direct democracy, and we oppose the long tradition of foreign intervention in Latin American affairs.
