Q. What is your evaluation of the campaign one year after the beginning of the boycott?
The world wide campaign against Coca Cola is an on going systematic global process which includes various activities of protest, mobilization, a call for disinvestments in those institutions where Coca Cola is represented and a consumer boycott of its products; any way of expressing your rejection of the company.
WHAT WE WANT
In Latin America, LASC recognises and seeks to challenge the uneven and unjust concentration of wealth, land and political power in the hands of a few; the persisting discrimination of the rights of indigenous groups; the submission of the rights of the people to the rights of minority economic interests including both multinational companies and national private companies; the continuing tradition of military and police violence as a response from government to demands for social change; the intrusion of foreign powers in national affai
WHO WE ARE
LASC is a membership based organisation. Membership is made up of individuals who share a passion for real social change in Latin America and Ireland and who believe that peace with justice and equality for all can come only through genuine participation of everyone in society's decision making. Thus, we encourage the opening of the traditional exclusive political systems of Latin America to new forms of participatory and direct democracy, and we oppose the long tradition of foreign intervention in Latin American affairs.
WHAT WE DO
LASC organises Solidarity in Ireland with the people of Latin America and the Caribbean in their struggle for independent development and control of their resources.
LASC also organises Development Education activities in Ireland in order to provide tools for analysis of the development issues raised. LASC understands that this is essential for effective campaigning solidarity and awareness raising.

SIGN THE PETITION AGAINST THE INTRODUCTION OF GM IN EUROPE!
The European Commission has just approved growing genetically modified crops in the European Union for the first time in 12 years!
Caving to the GM lobby, the commission has ignored 60% of Europeans who feel we have to get the facts first before growing foods that could pose a threat to our health and environment.
